Bonded modems double Internet access bandwidth
Bonded Modems Offer 112KB/s Service
Diamond's "Shotgun" technology will debut at this month's Comdex in Las Vegas, Nevada USA with the product available early next year. Shotgun technology modems will retail for about US$200. The modems will require two separate dialup accounts with an Internet Service Provider (ISP), and users will probably be charged for both accounts; however the cost of two standard dialup accounts is usually much less than the cost of a single ISDN or higher bandwidth account. The Wall Street Journal reported that Hayes Microcomputer and 3Com Corp. also have bonded modems in the works.
