What happened to free enterprise? Well it over matured into something called monolpoly capitalism. The results in the mines, textile mills and places like the Pullman Railcar factory, that even the politicians who's financial interest were parallel to teh industrialists, reluctantly got on board but not before company police forces were shooting strikers etc. We had free enterprise for several decades and came to a consensus throughout Europe and North America that it was a horrible experience. We have recorded history so we don't repeat the disasters of yesteryear. Go find the the biography of Clarence Darrow or the history of the United Mine workers. Or, if you think history is obsolete, find the story of Microsoft and Stac Electronics which is both dryly funny and frightening. : The reason I am proudly American is for the many freedoms we are allowed. If the freedom to think and create is rewarded by limitations we are setting ourselfves up to stiffle new ideas. This will hurt, us the little people.
: If people are punished for their foresight and major impacts they will only give us a little at a time and we may eventually start seeing less new and more recreates of the old.
: Is it fair to us or to the freedom to create to do thisd????
: I think Bill Gates should fight to the end and I WILL buy Windows 98 as I love new and creative and want to always be ahead of the game!!
