I have clean installed Win98 on my 333mhz PII with BX
chipset and 64 RAM. The installation was flawless and
took about 40 min.

*Speed tip, copy the Win98 folder from
the CD to your C: drive and use it instead of the CD
to save almost half the time of installation, not to
mention in the future when you add or change something
that requires the disk you can just browse for the
win98 folder instead.

Win 98 has less problems at this stage of it's existance
than win 95 did, and I've been on 95 since day 1.
Dont be scared of win98 (unless you have a K6-2),
because of it's Update feature, bug fixing will be a breeze
and look at how many bugs were fixed in 95 (the hard way).
It is defenatly faster at logoff, but i have noticed
no speed increase at boot up.
I'm confident that any of these present problems that
people are having will be worked out in the near future
and all will be able to run this very good operating
system.
