Netscape E-mail Client
Netscape is a SOCKS-compliant e-mail client. This means that it can
communicate directly with RideWay and not go through BreezeWay.
Since Netscape E-Mail is SOCKS compliant, you can configure in the
exact same manner as when you are directly connected to the Internet.
Outlook 97 from Microsoft is not SOCKS-compliant. You will need to configure
Outlook 97 to go through BreezeWay.
1. In RideWay, Click Server.
2. Under server, Click BreezeWay.
3. Make sure that E-mail proxy is ‘checked’.
4. In the ‘SMTP and POP3, enter the SMTP Server address of your ISP. In
the following example, this would be: ‘mail.itserv.com’.
*On the client PC, open MS Outlook.
* On the menu bar, click Tools
* Click Services
* Make sure that the cursor is on Internet Mail
* Click Properties so that the following screen appears:
* In Internet Mail Server, Enter the TCP/IP Address of the Server PC. In this case, enter, 192.168.1.1
* If you are using MS Outlook, click Advanced Options.
* You will see a box that says, ‘Forward all outbound mail to the following mail server.Again, enter, 192.168.1.1
* In Account Name, enter your information using the following format:
POP3 account#POP3server.isp.com
Or
zinzi#mail.itserv.com
* In Password, enter your password
* Click Apply.
* Click OK.
NOTE: If you are using MS Outlook, Outlook Express, or MS Internet
Mail, you will notice some differences in layout. In all three applications,
however, each contains the same or similar ‘Internet mail’ configuration
interface.
In the previous examples ,while there are some subtle differences, you
see the same pattern. In each case, we have configured the client Internet
e-mail application to first go through the BreezeWay server in RideWay
on the PC directly connected to the Internet before sending and receiving
mail. RideWay’s BreezeWay server will support all other leading client
e-mail applications (including, Pegasus E-mail) so long as they use SMTP
and POP3 protocol.
1. In RideWay, Click Server.
2. Under server, Click BreezeWay.
3. Make sure that E-mail proxy is ‘checked’.

Here:
‘tzinzi’ = POP3account
‘mail.itserv.com’ = the address of the real mail server.
’192.168.1.1’ = the TCP/IP address of the network card in the RideWay server PC.

address, enter the address you want replies to go to. In this case, it
would
be
tzinzi@itserv.com
