Configuring RideWay For Use With News Readers

Internet News Readers use TCP Mapping which is supported by BreezeWay. While Forte' Agent is profiled below, any Internet news
reader application that uses TCP Mapping can be configured in the same manner as Forte' Agent.

 Forte' News Agent

                    1. In RideWay on the server PC, Click Server

                    2. Click BreezeWay. Check TCP Mapping
 
 

 
 

                    3. In Local Port, enter 119

                    4. In Remote Server, enter the IP address or name of your news server. For example, news.clark.net.

                    5. In Remote Port, enter 119

                    6. Click OK

                    7. Start Forte' Agent on the Client PC.

                    8. Click Options

                    9. Click General Preferences

                    10. In News Server, enter the IP Address of the Server PC. In this case, enter 192.168.1.1

                    11. Click OK.

Netscape News Agent

Netscape is a SOCKS-compliant news client. This means that it can communicate directly with RideWay and not go through BreezeWay.
Since Netscape News is SOCKS-compliant, you can configure in the exact same manner as when you are directly connected to the Internet.
