Configuring RideWay For Remote Access

    If you work for a large organization that provides LAN access to the Internet from a
    network router, and you can dial directly into your PC on an analog phone line, then you
    can use RideWay to access your company's connection to the Internet.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The office PC must satisfy the following requirements:

                           -Windows 95/NT must be installed.
                           -'Dial-Up Networking Server' from Microsoft Plus! must be installed if using
                           Windows 95, (Windows NT already comes with a dial-up networking server).
                           -RideWay must be installed.
                           -The office LAN must be connected to the Internet without going through a
                           proxy (please verify with your network administrator).
                           -A modem must be installed on the PC.

     SERVER PC: (Office PC)

    In Network Properties for TCP/IP for Dial-Up Adaptor:

    What is the IP Address?  _________________============> Enter 192.168.1.1
    What is Sub-Net Mask    ___________________===========> Enter 255.255.255.0
     
     

    In the RideWay Software,
     

    Under Server Control,
     

    Enter the DNS numbers from your network configurations
     
     
     
     

    CLIENT PC (PC at home)

    In Network Properties for TCP/IP for Dial-Up Adaptor

    What is the IP Address?  _________________===============> 192.168.1.2
    What is Sub-Net Mask    ___________________ ============ >Enter 255.255.255.0

    In DNS Configuration,

            Is 'Enable DNS' Clicked?   _______===========> Click, Enable DNS.
            Host Name:       __________________========== >Larry
            Domain Name:     __________________ ==========> aeronix.com

            List the Numbers in 'DNS Search Order.
     
                            ____________________ ============> Enter 192.168.1.1 (Which is the IP of the PC at work)

    In the copy of Netscape on the client PC, Click Options.
    Click Network Preferences.
    Click Proxies
    Under Manual Proxy Configuration, Click View
     

            FTP Proxy       ___________________      PORT   ________
            Gopher Proxy    ___________________      PORT   ________
            HTTP Proxy      ___________________      PORT   ________
            Security Proxy  ___________________      PORT   ________
            WAIS Proxy      ___________________      PORT   ________
            SOCKS Proxy     ___________________      PORT   ________
     

    ============> In Socks Proxy, Enter 192.168.1.1 In PORT, Enter 1080.
