Use these EXACT Configurations

If you would like to use the following TCP/IP and RideWay configurations, please do so. You must use these configurations exactly how they appear.

DIRECTIONS:

In the SERVER PC (i.e. the PC running RideWay):

In Network Properties for TCP/IP for Ethernet LAN Card:

Specify an IP Address ENTER: 192.168.1.1

Sub-Net Mask ENTER: 255.255.255.0

In DNS Configuration,

Click 'Disable DNS.'

Host Name: 'Leave BLANK'

Domain Name: 'Leave BLANK'

For the Numbers in 'DNS Search Order: 'Leave BLANK'

In Network Properties for TCP/IP for Dial-Up Adaptor:

Click 'Obtain IP Address Automatically'

In RideWay Software,

Under 'Server Control',

Enter 'DNS Server Numbers'

NOTE:Please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and ask for these numbers. Enter them here in RideWay.

To Configure CLIENT PC

In Network Properties for TCP/IP for Ethernet LAN Card:

Specify an IP Address ENTER: 192.168.1.2

Sub-Net Mask ENTER: 255.255.255.0

In DNS Configuration,

Click 'Enable DNS'

Host Name: ENTER: name of machine (EXAMPLE)

Domain Name: ENTER: yourdomain.com (EXAMPLE)

List the Numbers in 'DNS Search Order.

ENTER: 192.168.1.1

In 'Gateway.

Leave BLANK

In Network Properties for TCP/IP for Dial-Up Adaptor:

Click'Obtain IP Address Automatically.'

In the copy of Netscape or Internet Explorer on the client PC Click Options.
Click Network Preferences.
Click Proxies

Under Manual Proxy Configuration, Click View

FTP Proxy ___________________ PORT ________

Gopher Proxy ___________________ PORT ________

HTTP Proxy ___________________ PORT ________

Security Proxy ___________________ PORT ________

WAIS Proxy ___________________ PORT ________

SOCKS Proxy ___________________ PORT ________

In Socks Proxy, ENTER: 192.168.1.1.

In PORT, ENTER: 1080.

NOTE: Leave all other proxy and port entries BLANK.
